Overview

The family that plays together stays together.

3 days of family fun and adventure exploring from the south to the mountains valleys, rivers, islands and north coast of Bali.

Lots of activities to choose from - something for everyone.

Itinerary

You'll be picked up from your hotel/meeting point at approximately 07.30 and taken to the start of your rafting adventure.

Choose between Rafting the easier Ayung River (Grade 2-3 grade rapids) OR the more challenging Telaga Waja river (Grade 3-4 rapids)

Both rivers take you through some of the most stunning scenery in Bali with towering waterfalls, high cliffs and lush river valleys along with exhilarating rapids and some calming flat water sections.

Note: The lower number or Grade, the easier the rapids. Both rivers have some exciting sections for those who have not rafted much (or at all). If your children are 10 or under we recommend the Ayung River option.

Lunch is included with your rafting.

**12.30-13.00 **

Drive to Villa Jempana. As we come to the top of the caldera outer rim at Kintamani you will be met by a view that you will never forget as you first look out over Mt Batur, Lake Batur, the lava flows, villages within the caledra and towering mountains in the distance, including the mother of all Bali’s mountains, Mt Agung

The drive time is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.

**14.30 **Arrive Villa Jempana

Villa Jempana provides the ideal lakeside location with easy access to your activities, large comfortable rooms, swimming pool and restaurant .

16.00-17.30

Get ready for some excitement as you explore the trails and lower slopes of Mt Batur on an ATV/Quad bike. We think this is by far the best location for Quad Biking in Bali.

Note:

• The minimum age to drive the ATV/Quad Bike is 15 so all under 15’s must ride tandem. • When operated carefully, ATV's/Quad bikes are safe however like any vehicle they can be dangerous if operated carelessly or by those inexperienced operating machinery. Therefore if you have a family member 15+ it may still not be appropriate to self drive if the person has little or no experience operating any types of vehicles. • The operator, Balad, is experienced operating these tours and has selected ATV/Quad Bike routes and operating procedures with safety foremost in mind so please follow their instructions and you should have a great and safe time

Dinner: Villa Jempana (included)

**Morning: **

Hike Mt Batur Volcano within the Kintamani Caldera. With good reason, this is the most popular hike in Bali and can easily be done with a moderate level of fitness. If the skies are clear, you will have unforgettable views of the caldera, lava flows from eruptions back in the early 1960’s, Lake Batur & Bali’s biggest mountain, Mt Agung.

Note: Guests can choose to do the early sunrise hike or get up a little later and do the hike around 7.30-8.00.

If the sunrise is not important to you, we like the later hike as most of the other hikers have finished by then or on their way back down the mountain.

On return to the Villa Jempana we have brunch and then drive to the northeast coastal town of Amed, staying at the Coral View Villas.

Coral View Villa’s is the perfect Amed getaway with immaculate gardens, large swimming pool, beachside restaurant and direct beach access to a good snorkelling area featuring lots of colorful fish and coral.

In the later afternoon you can go Snorkeling, Fishing in a local Balinese fishing boat known as a Jukung, explore the area and/or just laze around the hotel. Just let your guide know what you'd like to do.

Dinner is at Gusto Resto, serving mainly sumptuous Italian cuisine with gorgeous sunset views over the Bali Sea (included)

With its many varied coral reefs and abundance of marine life, Amed is famous for its snorkeling and SCUBA so you may like to choose Snorkeling as your main activity for the morning. If you do, then your guide will take you to 2-3 different sites best suited to your family.

However if you prefer something else you can go for a snorkel out the front of the hotel before breakfast then select one of the following activities:

Mt Bike Riding: our local Bike riding guide, Bajing, knows all the best ways to see this quiet, well preserved area of Bali so that you get the most out of your ride. or Hiking: there are two hike options: one down a paved valley road which is about 6km and the other up in the hills behind Amed. For photos of the Hills Hike please see photo gallery or Fishing: Try fishing from a colorful local Balinese fishing boat known as a Jukung or SCUBA Diving: SCUBA dives for licensed divers (there is a modest extra cost: please ask us) or Experience the thrill of breathing underwater with “Try SCUBA” for those with no experience. This can be arranged for an additional price - ask us

13.00

We'll have lunch at Warung Agung (included) before heading back to south Bali at about

14.00

Your guide will take you on the north eastern coastal road which is regarded as Bali’s most scenic. It winds high above the small fishing villages and local hill towns towards the south, providing unparalleled views across the Lombok straight towards Mt Rinjani in Lombok and the Gili’s.

FAQs

You know your family best. The suitable age to undertake an activity will vary for each activity and with the skills, confidence and experience of your child. You should note that Sobek raftings' insurance covers children from 7 years of age. We think 7 is about the right minimum age for most of the activities included here. If you wish to bring younger children, please feel free to contact us to discuss your itinerary and how we can best look after your children.

Wherever possible we require a minimum 2 weeks notice to book your chosen activities. We will be in contact with you once you book to ask you about your choices so we can arrange everything for you. If your booking is within 2 weeks then rest assured, we will get things organised.

No, your booking is just for you and whoever else you have booked with. The guide/driver is 100% yours and at your service. Some of your activities will be just you whilst some you will be joining other people who have also booked the same activity that day.

If there are things you would like to change, please contact us before booking and we will personalise an itinerary to suit your personal requirements.

We believe a great holiday is one that is not too over organised and we definitely don't want you to feel like you have to do anything. We will be as accommodating as possible. If you don't want to do something, or want to spend more or less time somewhere, please discuss with your guide. Please remember that our providers will have been paid to deliver your chosen services so no refund will be available. Also please remember people may be waiting for you, so if you decide not to participate in something, please advise your guide as soon as possible so that he/she can contact the appropriate people.

Please see the detailed Terms and Conditions on the booking page or via the link provided at the bottom of this page.

We pick up and drop off from Tuban, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Kerobokan, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and Sanur. If you are outside these areas, please discuss with us so that we can work out a plan with you.

Please just let us know so that once your Guide/Driver is no longer needed he/she can drive home

Yes you should always have Travel Insurance to cover the activities you are doing on your Active Break

You will be doing a range of activities which will require you to have a few things handy and you will be in different environments that may be hot, cool and/or raining. A few suggestions of things to bring are: a good pair of walking shoes, flip flops (sandals), swimming gear, sunscreen, hat, rain jacket, one long sleeved shirt and/or jacket in case its cool in the mountains, mosquito repellent, waterproof casing for phone/camera

Sometimes an activity provider will be forced to cancel an activity where the conditions are unsuitable/unsafe to proceed with the activity. For example, sometimes when river levels get too high, it becomes unsuitable to go rafting or canyoning If an activity is cancelled, we will do our best to either re-program the activity (wherever possible) or offer an alternative activity but please remember that these situations are outside of our control and part of the risk of planning outdoor activities.
