Itinerary

Your trip starts with a choice of one of the following:

Surfing lesson on Kuta Beach or SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) lesson in Jimbaran Bay or Sea Kayak & Catamaran in Sanur or Fishing from a local Balinese fishing boat known as a Jukung or Wakeboarding/Water Skiing at Bali Cable Ski Park. Or Urban Cycle (Kuta-Seminyak)

After you've finished your chosen activity we will head towards your accommodation at Alamdhari Resort in Sideman (approximately 1.5 hour drive).

Sidemen is a quiet, traditional Balinese village surrounded by valleys, rice paddies and rice terraces with Mount Agung dominating the landscape to the north.

Alamdhari resort and Spa is a small boutique resort with a fabulous location, nestled perfectly between the sweeping rice terraces of the Sidemen Valley

On the way we will stop at Masa Masa for some delicious Indonesian cuisine and a wonderful ambience amongst the old colonial style architecture. There is also some some great batik and local handicrafts shopping to be had in the Masa Masa retail outlets.

Upon arrival at Alamdhari you'll have plenty of time to settle in and then have the option of doing a short hike in the nearby hills to Gembleng Falls, also known as Heavens Gate. With great views over the Sidemen valley we highly recommend it.

More dining delights await you as you head to Asri Dining by Samanvaya Luxury Resort for dinner (included)

Choose between Rafting the Telaga Waja River or a Mt Bike ride to Amed

Raft the thrilling rapids through the lush green gorges of the Telaga Waja river or cycle from nearby Sidemen through the rice terraces and traditional villages of central & north Bali towards Amed. The ride can be adjusted according to your requirements and fitness level.

Rafters depart at 9.15 whilst Mt Bike riders can leave a little later if preferred.

Rafters Finish rafting by 12.30. Lunch included. Depart for Coral View Villas in Amed by 13.30, arriving by about 15.00.

Mountain Bikers will finish their ride at the Coral View Villa’s Amed and can arrange their own lunch there or nearby.

Coral View Villa’s is the perfect Amed getaway with immaculate gardens, large swimming pool, beachside restaurant and direct beach access to a good snorkelling area featuring lots of colorful fish and coral.

Rest of the day: Snorkelling available straight out front of hotel or try the Japanese Ship Wreck or another location nearby (your guide knows the best snorkelling places in the area) or Hiking: we have a delightful 6km hike down a mountain valley road. The hike is approximately 1.5 hours, all downhill, passing through local villages and rice terrace farming areas with views of nearby hills and ocean Note: If you don’t want to do the full 6km, just tell the driver how many km you want and he’ll wait for you at the specified place

or Fishing: with Jukung (traditional local Balinese fishing boat) or Take it easy: just go Swimming & Relax

Dinner: Gusto Resto or Trattoria. Both restaurants have an extensive Italian menu and sunset gorgeous views of the Bali ocean (included).

Morning.

You may like to have a short snorkel in front of the hotel before another activity or, since Amed is a diving mecca you might choose to spend the morning just snorkeling and exploring different dive sites around Amed.

If you choose a short snorkel plus another activity, your options are: Hiking, Cycling (approximately 3 hours), Fishing, Try SCUBA or SCUBA (for certified divers).

Note: Supplementary cost for Try SCUBA is $30 Supplementary cost for 2 x SCUBA Dives is $40

Hiking: Choose between the 6km mountain valley road hike described above (approximately 1.5 hours) or Our more challenging hill hike just 10 minutes to the east of your hotel (see photos in the gallery) – hike time about 2.5 hours – your guide will collect you at the finishing point near the top of the hill

Cycling: Bijang from East Bali cycling will take you to a local village about 25km from Amed – you will ride on small roads through rice fields and villages enjoying the ride and learning a little about the local area – the ride is not too difficult so only moderate fitness required.

Fishing: we have a fishing guide who will take you in the traditional Jukung (local fishing boat) - The Jukung has both engine & sail

TRY SCUBA: Experience the thrill of breathing underwater. Learn some SCUBA skills - try your first dive in a pool then do one open water dive in the ocean

SCUBA (for certified divers): includes 2 local dives in Amed area

13.00 Lunch in Amed – Warung Agung (included).

Note: If you are cycling you will have lunch at end of ride.

Depart Amed by 2.00. Drive home via scenic coastal road with stop for a brief visit to Jasri Chocolate Factory. Allow 3 hours to Kuta plus rest stop

FAQs

Wherever possible we require a minimum 2 weeks notice to book your chosen activities. We will be in contact with you once you book to ask you about your choices so we can arrange everything for you. If your booking is within 2 weeks then rest assured, we will get things organised.

No, your booking is just for you and whoever else you have booked with. The guide/driver is 100% yours and at your service. Some of your activities will be just you whilst some you will be joining other people who have also booked the same activity that day.

If there are things you would like to change, please contact us before booking and we will personalise an itinerary to suit your personal requirements.

We believe a great holiday is one that is not too over organised and we definitely don't want you to feel like you have to do anything. We will be as accommodating as possible. If you don't want to do something, or want to spend more or less time somewhere, please discuss with your guide. Please remember that our providers will have been paid to deliver your chosen services so no refund will be available. Also please remember people may be waiting for you, so if you decide not to participate in something, please advise your guide as soon as possible so that he/she can contact the appropriate people.

Please see the detailed Terms and Conditions on the booking page

We pick up and drop off from Tuban, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Kerobokan, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and Sanur. If you are outside these areas, please discuss with us so that we can work out a plan with you.

Please just let us know so that once your Guide/Driver is no longer needed he/she can drive home

Yes you should always have Travel Insurance to cover the activities you are doing on your Active Break

You will be doing a range of activities which will require you to have a few things handy and you will be in different environments that may be hot, cool and/or raining. A few suggestions of things to bring are: a good pair of walking shoes, flip flops (sandals), swimming gear, sunscreen, hat, rain jacket, one long sleeved shirt and/or jacket in case its cool in the mountains, mosquito repellent, waterproof casing for phone/camera

Sometimes an activity provider will be forced to cancel an activity where the conditions are unsuitable/unsafe to proceed with the activity. For example, sometimes when river levels get too high, it becomes unsuitable to go rafting or canyoning If an activity is cancelled, we will do our best to either re-program the activity (wherever possible) or offer an alternative activity but please remember that these situations are outside of our control and part of the risk of planning outdoor activities.
